Celebrate World Meteorological Day

Happy *NEW SCIENCE* Friday!

Things are looking up

Back in 340 B.C.E Aristotle wrote a book all about weather and climate. He called this book "Meteorologica", based on the Greek word, “meteoron,” meaning “a thing high up". The study of meteorology has come a long way since then, and it's still an important field of science and a useful tool for society.
Each year, on March 23, scientists all around the world celebrate World Meteorological Day to commemorate the creation of the World Meteorological Organization on the 23rd of March 1950. This' year's topical theme is "Early Warning, Early Action".
Won't you join us and celebrate all the things up high and the wonderful people who study them?

I always ask this question to people that I’m coaching or mentoring. Usually the answer is not recently. We often get caught up in things that didn’t work or moving on to the next “big thing” that we forget to acknowledge the milestones that we have crossed.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been reminded that I need to do the very same thing: celebrate my accomplishments from this year. My painting, See it. Believe it. BECOME IT!, has become the highlight of my year. Thank you to everyone who has shared what the image means to them and those who have supported by getting a print. My most humbling moment came last week when I logged in for a virtual meeting and saw it in the background of one of the attendees who I had never met before. I will forever be grateful for the opportunity that Analytical Chemistry and @amerchemsociety gave me to showcase my work. Over the weekend, I finally took some time off to celebrate everything that has been accomplished this year. From coaching and consulting, to artwork, to @steamforwardacademy, this year has been filled with far more ups than down. And for that, I choose to celebrate!

So today, I’m challenging you to celebrate something that you are proud of or simply celebrate how dope you are! It’s amazing how this simple act can help to keep you motivated to go after more. Go ahead and brag on yourself. Shout out something that you are proud of from this year!'
